Amonita, the ethereal musician known for her enchanting compositions and captivating live performances, is set to release her latest body of work, the ‘Rainbow’ EP, on March 29th, under Lee Burridge’s esteemed record label All Day I Dream.
Since her debut in 2017, Amonita has been on a steadfast mission to craft iconic melodies that resonate deeply with listeners, evoking emotions that linger long after the music fades. She seamlessly blends live instrumentation with electronic elements, creating an immersive sonic experience that transports audiences to a world of serenity and wonder. Amonita is no stranger to All Day I Dream; In addition to her Secret of Happiness EP in 2019 and Aura EP in 2021, Amonita has contributed tracks on two A Winter Sampler compilations, and was featured on Gorje Hewek’s 2021 Collages album released on the label. With additional releases on Anjunadeep, Highway Records, Earthly Delights, Shanti Radio, and Akbal Music, and the launch of her own record label and events series RUBICANDA, Amonita is solidifying herself as a rising star and tastemaker within the world of downtempo and organic house.
Drawing inspiration from her time spent in Turkey surrounded by nature, Amonita infuses the EP with the essence of the awe-inspiring beauty she experienced: sun-kissed landscapes, tranquil seas, and the vibrant hues of a majestic rainbow. Her music speaks to the hearts of true dreamers – those who believe in love, walk barefoot in the rain, watch sunsets, admire the stars, and are impressed by the mystery and beauty of the moon.
In her own words, Amonita shares, “No matter how difficult your path through storms and thunder is, after that you will see a rainbow!”
This sentiment encapsulates the overarching theme of resilience and hope that resonates throughout the EP, serving as a beacon of light in challenging times. The ‘Rainbow’ EP is a testament to Amonita’s boundless creativity and passion for storytelling through music. From the shimmering melodies of title track ‘Rainbow’ to the hypnotic rhythms of ‘Amulet’ to the dark and mysterious ‘Moon Dust’, each track invites listeners on a transcendent voyage of discovery.

WWD: Hi Amonita, thank you for joining us. Welcome back to When We Dip! We absolutely love the Rainbow EP. What was the inspiration behind this beautiful body of work?
Hello, thank you for your love for my music. During the creation of the release, I lived in Turkey for more than a year and was inspired by the incredible nature. Soft sun, warm malachite sea, rivers and murmuring waterfalls, mountains and volcanoes and a rainbow of extraordinary beauty. I traveled a lot to picturesque places and one of the most vivid impressions was a trip to Cappadocia. After returning I started creating the Rainbow EP
WWD: After releasing two amazing EPs on All Day I Dream, Secret of Happiness in 2019 and Aura in 2021, your return to the label to release the Rainbow EP is highly anticipated. Can you share how your journey with the label has evolved since your earlier contributions?
The All Day I Dream label took a special place in my heart. It was he who inspired me to create my music. I listened to all the releases and absorbed the atmosphere of the tracks that were published there. The owner of the label, Lee Burridge, a man with a big heart and an incredibly kind soul, heard something special in my tracks and signed my first Secret of Happiness EP. I was so happy and from that moment we became friends. I have received a lot of support and love from the All Day I Dream community of true dreamers, as well as many invitations to perform at shows around the world from All Day I Dream.
WWD: Walk us through your creative process for this EP and how your surroundings influenced its sound?
Working on these tracks was a pleasure, I wrote them quite quickly, which cannot be said about my other tracks, I took 3-5 months to make some of my tracks, it depends on my mood and state of mind, at the time of writing the Rainbow EP I felt calm and enjoyment of life, I was filled with energy and I wanted to share my emotions with everyone, this is what I do through music by creating my Rainbow EP
WWD: Could you elaborate on the overarching message you hope to convey with the Rainbow EP and how it reflects your own journey as an artist?
I think this EP is ideal for real dreamers who believe in love, who love to walk barefoot in the rain, jump and smile with joy after discovering a rainbow, watch sunrise and sunsets, admire the stars, be impressed by the mystery and beauty of the moon.
WWD: Do you have a favorite track from the Rainbow EP, and if so, what makes it stand out to you?
It’s difficult for me to single out any one of them, all the tracks have absolutely different melodic content and meaning. I hope that after listening, your consciousness will grasp its personal picture, trigger your imagination, make you think, return you to pleasant memories, and lead you to a state of euphoria.
WWD: How do you connect with your audience during your live performances? What do you hope the audience takes away from the experience?
I communicate through a personal rainbow, and convey the full spectrum of colors to the audience through my smile and eye contact. I like to give positive emotions during a performance and synchronize with the audience to be on the same vibe.. After parties I get a lot of feedback, for some my music is fun and relaxation, for others it helps to get through difficult moments in life and I am happy to know that.
WWD: How did you first get involved with making music? Do you have any advice for artists who are just starting out?
About 13 years ago, I delved into music creation on my own, spent a long time studying various DAWs and how they work, and watched videos of creating music. I had a lot of sketches and for many years I could not budge and complete at least one of my tracks; later I realized that I needed the help of a professional. For almost a year I was in search of a teacher and finally found him – it was Makebo, I took a course in music writing and a new musical world opened up for me, thanks to the knowledge I gained and the philosophy of Makebo, I got off the ground and began to complete my tracks and ideas.
I really wanted to compose my own melodies and I attended various master classes and took private lessons in playing the piano. And now I’ve been writing my own tracks for 8 years now, and every time they turn out better and more interesting.
I would like to advise aspiring artists to understand that producing music is a complex process and it will take many years to delve into creating music, if you decide to take this path you must be obsessed, you must have music flowing through your veins, only then can you create original tracks without copying the sound of other musicians. If you consider yourself this way, then I want to wish you patience and strength, since the music market is overflowing with a variety of music and you will need time to be noticed and appreciated for your works.
WWD: We heard you’re an avid chef! If you had to compare the Rainbow EP to any dish, what would it be?
Yes, I really like to cook in my free time, but I don’t have much of it) I would compare my Rainbow EP to a dessert, and it would be Tiramisu. Not too sweet, with a slight bitterness of cocoa and a rich coffee taste. It melts in your mouth, first enveloping you with a creamy texture and then releasing a strong coffee hit of aroma and flavor that lies in the delicate biscuit layer.
WWD: Tell us about the record label and events series you founded. What inspired you to create RUBICUNDA?
Rubicunda is a label that was created by me and Makebo in 2021. We built a music community in which there is a feeling of freedom, lightness, flight of fancy and expression of the most daring ideas. The goal of our label is to show music without being tied to certain frameworks and rules, this is a way to look into the future ahead of trends and present listeners with new, original musicians who are true trendsetters. The inspiration for creating the label was the desire to publish my own music and the music of other musicians that is not formulaic and has an experimental flavor. We have already held a number of successful showcases and are planning to organize Rubicunda showcases around the world.
WWD: What do you have coming up that you’re excited about? Any releases you have on the horizon, or interesting shows you’re playing?
A new remix of mine will be released on Shanti Radio label in early April. This month, I have already debuted in Armenia and Sri Lanka, and in mid April I will return in Dubai for Lendaa, which is actually a Brazilian festival I played for last year in Curitiba, that is now expanding to the Middle East. For the summer, I have several performances planned in Europe. See you!
